God's Warth is Coming... Are You Ready?

You had better listen to the words of Jesus, “Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, shall enter, but he that does the will of my father in heaven.” If ye by the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the flesh, ye shall live. If you live after the flesh, you’ll die! The cross does not give us a minor shift or two with regard to a few of our ethical and religious values. The cross radically disrupts the very center and citadel of your life from self to Christ. And if the cross has not done that, YOU’RE NOT A CHRISTIAN! My Friend face it, young rogue, you’re not a Christian until the cross has radically disrupted the very center and citadel of your life! And brought you from a life of commitment to serve self…What are the focal points of the reign of your self? If you’ve gone to the cross in union with Christ, it’s been shattered!"

I Will Send a Famine

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD." Amos 8:11

Has this not befallen America? Our churches are full of people having itching ears and preachers to more than willing to accommodate. As a nation we have first rejected the Word of the Lord and now we no longer even preach it.

The good news is that there is a small but growing group who truly are seeking to hear and preach the Word of God. I pray for the Lord's abundant blessing on this small but growing minority and that they should never lose sight of the end goal: beholding the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. If Satan, that roaring lion who goes about seeking whom he may devour, waylays us on other things than that of God himself, if our cry is not "God and God alone," we shall be thwarted in our own efforts of having the Word magnified. May God have mercy on us and spare us from such an end.
